Cozy and Elegant Neutral Christmas Decor Home Tour

Welcome to my cozy and elegant neutral Christmas decor home tour! If you’ve followed me for some time, then welcome back to my home! I blogged sparsely in 2023 and am looking forward to sharing much more in 2024. Home Stories A to Z began Christmas of 2008, and after 15 years of blogging I required some downtime doing what I love without worrying about an audience or a sponsor! It’s been a renewing time, and I’m excited to share many more tips and projects with you. Decorating on a budget while creating meaningful spaces that are cozy, elegant, obtainable, and relatable remains my goal. Enjoy the tour and thanks so much for taking the time to visit!

Mixed Greenery Christmas Porch

This year my Christmas decor theme is Cozy Woodland Cabin. The entire house feels like an elegant and calming mountain escape! I used a mix of several different garlands, natural greenery, and green velvet ribbon throughout the house to achieve my desired look.

The Christmas wreath that greets you on the front door is a mix of two wreaths, a garland, and faux greenery. You can create your own using the tutorial I created in this blog post: DIY Extra Large Fall Wreath Tutorial. The tutorial shows how to create a huge, full wreath that can easily be customized and reimagined for each season. The gold bells on the wreath are from Amazon. I’ve used them in several different Christmas arrangements over the years and love them!

Almost all of my porch decor this year is repurposed from previous years with the exception of the layered porch rugs. The black and white checkered rug is from Walmart and can be found here. The tree rug is from At Home Stores.

Christmas Decorating Tip: Layer multiple garlands intertwined with velvet ribbon to create an affordably luxe look.

This spring we added a new pup to our family. His name is Finnegan. He is an American Eskimo Mix and a total menace! You will see him in many upcoming photos. He is my little furry shadow and a source of great entertainment for the family!

I used a mix of two garlands all along our staircase banisters and adorned each baluster with a green velvet bow.

Cozy Cabin Christmas Dining Room

This year our dining room received a complete makeover that has yet to be shared! I stripped and refinished the table, repainted the sideboard, painted second hand chairs, reupholstered head chairs, and painted the bookshelves.

I also added an antique fireplace mantel that I scored on Facebook Marketplace! It has a rich history and adds so much character to the room. The ladderback chairs were also Marketplace finds. antique fireplace mantel christmas greenery

Our dining room gets the most use out of any in our home and is such a cozy and welcoming space. We eat all of our dinners together around the table every evening and I’m grateful for this space.

For the centerpiece this year, I purchased gingerbread houses from At Home Store and draped them down the table. They provide the perfect Christmas glow!  lit up gingerbread house decor

They are a beautiful addition to my Christmas decor, and something I’ll enjoy pulling out each year.

Woodland Cabin Christmas Tree

This Christmas I assembled five full-sized Christmas trees! Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to take pictures of the trees in our bedrooms but they are all magical. My two favorite trees are pictured below. For the dining room tree, I used rustic woodland ornaments in tones of black, white, and brown. Quail feathers, wood beads, grapevine balls, and gingham ribbons create a cozy cabin vibe on the tree.

This tree is probably one of my favorite Christmas trees I’ve ever decorated! The tree is from At Home Store and is very similar to the viral Home Depot tree with fairy lights.

One last picture of the dining room with Finnegan! He had to get in the pic to remind everyone of his presence!

Over the last six years, our kitchen has donned a myriad of looks. I’m enjoying it’s current look the most! I kept the Christmas decor very simple and clean with a mix of fresh and faux mixed greens.

We added a Beautiful DIY Faux Wood Beam Room Divider a few years ago to ground and separate the kitchen from the dining room. Warm wood accents always help add character and charm to a room! I’m thinking of adding more contrast to the kitchen this year with a wallpaper treatment to the ceiling.

Cozy Elegant Winter White Sunroom

I decorated the frosted sunroom Christmas tree with an array of mercury glass and white ornaments.

Family Photo Tree

Back in 2011 I made family photo ornaments using shipping tags purchased at an office supply store. Please see this post for the full tutorial: How to Create a Mini-Gallery Wall {photo tags}. When searching through Christmas ornaments, I rediscovered the tags and was thrilled to utilize the ornaments on our breakfast room tree!

My boys are older teens now with Asher entering his junior year of college and Zephan finishing up his junior year of high school! It’s fun to have these cherished photos of our family on the tree.

My breakfast room shelves received a few Christmas picks, live greenery, and bottle brush trees.

I kept things simple and unfussy in this space and enjoyed the tidyness! styled Christmas shelves
