I’m honored that you clicked over here to learn a bit more about me. I am Beth, the creative talent behind Home Stories A to Z . I started this blog in January 2008 simply as a way to share our life stories of living in the city with our two little boys, Asher and Zephan (A to Z). Decorating and design have always been passions of mine. In January 2009, I discovered decorating, crafting, and design blogs and my world was forever transformed…and so was my blog! I couldn’t resist joining the party. Q. What sets you apart from the other trillion home blogs out there? I’m incredibly tenacious, resourceful, willing to take risks, and I love to teach as I learn. What this means for you is that if I can accomplish something, I believe you can too! I try to do everything with a sense of humor and hope you laugh along with me (or at me….or both :)). Most of my friends describe me as authentic, real, and down-to-earth. My goal is to encourage you to be the same. In a nutshell, I don’t take myself too seriously. I improvise as I go along. And most importantly, I believe in creating beauty out of chaos and sharing my home stories with you. Q. What is your story? My husband Matt and I have renovated several apartments and two homes together. Home Stories A to Z started when we were city dwellers living in a 100 yr old Italianate twin home which was completely gutted and “flipped” when we purchased it. I worked as a designer for a short period with a local home flipping company when we first moved to the city, and I LOVED it. That work gave me the confidence to step out and follow my dreams. Our family currently lives in South Carolina in a ten-year old home in the country. It’s quite a change from the city and we are loving this new way of life ! Q: What are some things you’ve done in the past on the blog? On Home Stories A to Z, I mostly blog about projects and home improvements I make to my home. However, my blog is a bit of a variety show consisting of decorating tips and tutorials, DIY projects, decor trend alerts, occasional recipes, and sponsored posts. I also host a weekly link party on Monday nights called Tutorials & Tips and love to feature fabulous projects from other bloggers. I love to partner with companies that I bring value to my readers. In addition to my work on Home Stories A to Z, I most recently worked as a brand ambassador for Shaw Floors and Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart. In the past I worked as a brand ambassador/contributor to Homes.comLowes Creative IdeasHouzz.com, Waverly Inspirations, and a 3M DIY Expert. I am a Better Homes and Gardens Stylemaker Pinner. In 2012, I joined a team of amazing DIY bloggers to help begin the Haven Conference, an annual DIY/Home bloggers conference in Atlanta, GA. My projects and tips have been featured in several in print publication including People magazine (porch), Better Homes & Gardens Kitchens + Baths (kitchen), This Old House (half bath), HGTV Magazine (bathroom), Woman’s Day (backyard), All You Magazine (living room) and online by BHG, Country Living, Lowe’s, Pottery Barn, Birch Lane, HGTV, Apartment Therapy, etc. Q. Meet Beth

I believe a truly beautiful home is more than just a culmination of well-decorated spaces. "Home" is a reflection of the stories and personalities who fill it with life. I started Home Stories A to Z back in 2008. Over the years, it has grown into a collection of cherished memories and moments that have in a way become a "home" of its own. The A to Z in my name is a nod to my two sons, Asher and Zephan, who are at the heart of my story. From decorating and DIY tutorials, to recipes, crafts, tips, and celebrating the beauty of everyday living, Home Stories A to Z focuses on creating a home with heart, history, and a story to tell!

Home Stories A to Z was originally entitled The Stories of A to Z, after my two sons Asher (20) and Zephan (18). When I started the blog, Zephan had just turned one and Asher was three years old. I wasn’t sure exactly what to share on the blog at first, but my love for homemaking soon took over! At the time, we had just purchased, gutted, and flipped a 100 yr old Italianate twin home with the help of some entrepreneurial friends. Our new neighborhood was experiencing an urban renewal, and I freelanced as an interior decorator with my entrepreneurial friends and documented some of that work on the blog. This gave me the confidence to step out and follow my dreams of sharing online all of the many ways I was creating beauty on a budget in my home and neighborhood and Home Stories A to Z was born!

Our family currently lives outside of Greenville, South Carolina in a home in the country. It’s quite a change from the city but we love the tranquility of country living!

Creating a space where readers feel inspired, empowered, and excited to make their homes a reflection of their own stories.

My design style can best be described as “Lived-in Luxury with a Story to Tell.” I blend a mix of cottage charm with classic traditional elements, and adore rich architectural details. I create spaces that feel both refined and welcoming. I major in making high-end style approachable and budget friendly!

My husband and I recently visited Scotland and all of the pubs, palaces, gardens, architecture, and countryside greatly inspired me to add more layered, timeless, and cozy elements to every space! Overall, I create rooms where beauty meets function and every element feels curated, intentional, and effortlessly sophisticated. Â
